Estimate a Thailand tourist VAT refund from 1–8 P.P.10 forms for one traveller on one departure. Apply the Revenue Department table to each form, add the refunds, then subtract entered extra fees. Starting figures are examples. This is an estimate, not eligibility approval or a guaranteed payout.

How it works

Prepare each form Enter its VAT-inclusive Total Payment after discounts, from P.P.10 or e-P.P.10. Include qualifying goods only, not hotel stays, meals or services. Do not enter Total VAT or merge separate forms into one amount.

Check eligibility first The claimant must be non-Thai, have no domicile in Thailand, not be airline crew leaving on duty, and depart through an international airport. Buy at least THB 2,000 per store per day from a participating VAT Refund for Tourists store. Keep the P.P.10 and original tax invoices matching the purchaser. Take the goods out with you; prohibited exports and unmounted gemstones do not qualify. This calculator cannot inspect documents or determine domicile.

Calculate per form Below THB 200,000, use the bracket containing that form’s purchase value. At THB 200,000 or more, multiply that form by 6.1%. Add the individual refunds afterwards. This is not 7% of shopping spend. Example: THB 24,500 returns THB 1,280 and a separate THB 5,000 form returns THB 250: THB 1,530 combined before extra fees.

Count the days Purchase date is day 1. Goods must leave by day 60. Enter the departure day number you have counted for each form. Forms below THB 2,000 or older than 60 days show zero refund and a reason; this does not approve the other eligibility conditions.

Fees and rounding Table amounts already include processing fees. Do not deduct another THB 100. Enter confirmed additional bank or postage charges, if any. Zero means no extra fees have been included, not that none will be charged. The 6.1% estimate rounds half-up to a satang per form; the checked sources do not establish final payout rounding.

Departure checks At total purchases of THB 20,000 or more, present goods and documents to Customs before check-in. Listed luxury goods, including jewellery, watches, phones, portable computers, handbags and belts, at THB 40,000 per item or more, and other carry-on goods at THB 100,000 per item or more, require another Revenue inspection after immigration. Suitcases are excluded from the listed handbag category. Read the complete official list and follow officers’ instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply the table to all my shopping combined?

No. The processing notice applies the refund table separately to each P.P.10 form. Enter the actual forms separately and add their refunds. Do not create or merge forms yourself; ask the store about the correct documents for same-store, same-day purchases.

Can every foreign visitor or a Thai citizen claim?

No. Eligibility includes non-Thai nationality and no domicile in Thailand. Ask the Revenue Department if your status is unclear. This calculator does not use a number of days in Thailand as a substitute for determining domicile.

When can a refund be paid in cash?

The payment guidance allows a Thai-baht cash option when the refund does not exceed THB 30,000. Above that, use an available card or bank-draft method. The limit concerns the refund, not the purchase total, and all eligibility and inspection requirements still apply.

What if I have more than eight forms or unknown fees?

Eight is this interface’s limit, not a legal cap. Calculate separate batches and add the individual refunds yourself. Avoid deducting the same fees twice and use all purchases for airport thresholds. Enter zero for unknown extra fees and read the result as before those unknown charges.
