Compare two quotes using the rates and fees you have actually been offered. Starting figures are examples, not live rates. Use the same source currency for A and B, with each rate expressed as Thai baht per 1 source unit. Choose receiving baht or paying / withdrawing baht to match your transaction.

How it works

Receive baht: deduct the percentage fee from the original source amount, subtract the fixed source fee, convert the remainder, then deduct the baht fee. Formula: (source amount × (1 − percentage/100) − source fee) × rate − baht fee.

Example: USD 1,000 at 35 THB/USD, with 1% + USD 5 + THB 100 in fees, delivers (1,000 − 10 − 5) × 35 − 100 = THB 34,375.

Card / ATM cost: add the baht fee to the purchase or cash amount, divide by the rate, apply the percentage surcharge to that converted amount, then add the fixed source fee. Formula: (baht amount + baht fee) ÷ rate × (1 + percentage/100) + source fee.

This models one transaction. Providers may use a different fee basis or apply minimums and caps. Check your quote first. Do not add a spread or DCC markup again when it is already in the rate. No live rates or bank-specific fee schedules are loaded.

Bank of Thailand references explain checking both sending and receiving fees; they do not supply the example rates or fees.

Frequently asked questions

Does the better exchange rate always deliver more baht?

No. Fixed or percentage fees can outweigh a better headline rate. Compare the same starting amount and include receiving fees.

How do I enter a rate quoted per 100 yen?

Divide that rate by 100. An illustrative quote of THB 23 per 100 yen becomes 0.23 THB per yen. These numbers illustrate units, not a current yen rate.

What if fees are already included in my rate?

Enter 0 for those fees and add only extra charges. For several transactions or a fee schedule with minimums and caps, calculate each transaction using its actual fees.
