Add up an employer's yearly cost for one employee: salary, bonus, employer social security, Workmen's Compensation Fund contributions, provident fund matching, benefits and allowances.

How it works

Total = salary × (12 + bonus months) + employer social security (5% of wages within the current floor and ceiling × 12) + Workmen's Compensation Fund (yearly wages up to THB 240,000 per person × the 0.2–1.0% rate for the business type) + provident fund match + benefits + allowances × 12. The add-on share is measured against salary and bonus.

Example: a THB 30,000 salary plus a one-month bonus is THB 390,000. Employer social security is THB 875 a month or THB 10,500 a year; the compensation fund is 240,000 × 0.2% = THB 480; a 3% provident fund match is THB 10,800; benefits THB 12,000. The total is THB 423,780 a year, or THB 35,315 a month.

Your actual compensation fund rate is in the SSO rate notice for your business type. Overtime, severance, recruitment, training, equipment and office space are excluded. Income tax withheld belongs to the employee and is not an extra employer cost.

Frequently asked questions

How much social security does the employer pay?

The employer matches the employee at 5% of wages within the legal floor and ceiling for that year. The tool uses the same ceiling as the site's social security calculator.

How does the compensation fund differ from social security?

The compensation fund is paid only by the employer and covers work-related injury or illness, at a rate based on business risk. Social security is shared by employee and employer.

Can I budget a new hire with this?

Yes, as a baseline per person. Add equipment, recruitment and probation costs in a real budget.
