Project a Thai provident fund balance from 2–15% employee savings, employer contributions, returns and pay rises, with the amount after the employer vesting share on leaving and the first-year tax saving.

How it works

Each month your savings and the employer contribution are added at the rates on that year's salary; salary rises once a year. Balances grow at (1 + r)^(1/12) − 1 a month, tracked separately for your part and the employer part. Vested amount = your part + employer part × vesting %. First-year tax saving compares salary tax with and without your savings deduction, capped at THB 500,000 under Revenue Department rules.

Hand check: a THB 10,000 salary with 5% savings and a 5% employer match, no raises and 0% return, builds 500 + 500 × 12 = THB 12,000 in a year; with 50% vesting you keep THB 9,000. On THB 30,000 a month, 5% savings of THB 18,000 a year cut tax from THB 1,975 to THB 1,075, saving THB 900.

Real returns depend on your chosen investment policy and may be negative. Vesting and service rules follow your employer's fund regulations. Tax on withdrawals before the legal exemption conditions is not modelled, and the tax saving uses only the personal allowance and social security. Not investment advice.

Frequently asked questions

What savings rate is allowed?

The law allows savings of 2–15% of salary; the rates you can actually choose depend on your company fund's rules.

Do I keep all employer money when I leave?

It depends on the vesting rules; some funds vest by years of service. Enter the vesting % to see the amount you expect to receive.

How much of my savings is tax-deductible?

The Revenue Department allows a deduction of up to THB 10,000 of savings paid; the rest is exempt up to THB 490,000 and 15% of wages, THB 500,000 in total.
