Estimate an emergency reserve from essential monthly expenses and your chosen coverage period. See the target, shortfall and months currently covered.

How it works

Target = essential monthly expenses × selected months. Shortfall = max(0, target − existing reserve). Current coverage = reserve ÷ monthly expenses.

Example: THB 20,000 monthly expenses for six months produce a THB 120,000 target. A THB 30,000 reserve covers 1.5 months and leaves a THB 90,000 gap.

Choose a coverage period that fits your circumstances; no single period suits everyone. Count accessible, uncommitted funds only. New income, interest and exceptional one-off costs are excluded.

Frequently asked questions

Which expenses should I include?

Include expenses you would still need to pay, such as housing, food, transport, minimum debt payments and dependants’ needs.

Can my reserve exceed the target?

Yes. The shortfall becomes zero, while coverage reflects your actual reserve.
